Prosciutto e Melone
Sweet, fragrant cantaloupe melon draped with paper-thin slices of aged prosciutto di Parma. A classic Italian antipasto that needs nothing more than good ingredients and a moment to assemble.
How to cook
Plating & presentation
Fan the melon wedges across a large flat platter or wooden board, alternating direction for visual interest. Let the prosciutto drape loosely and generously over each wedge. A few torn mint leaves and a final drizzle of olive oil complete the look. Keep it unfussy — this dish sells itself on colour and contrast.
Dana's tip
The quality of the prosciutto makes or breaks this dish. Ask your deli to slice it as thin as possible — almost translucent. Thick-cut prosciutto is chewy and overpowers the delicate melon. San Daniele is a worthy alternative to Parma if you can find it.
